Krishna Janmastami Celebrations on August 28th by ISKCON
Mysore, August 26, 2013: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will celebrate Krishna Janmashtami on August 28 at its centre in 18th Cross, Jayanagar here. The celebrations will begin at 4.15 a.m. and continue till 1 a.m. the next day. The idols of Krishna Balarama will be specially decorated on the occasion. Darshan will be open throughout the day. The special attraction of the celebrations will be the elaborate mahabhisheka to Krishna and Balarama, which will begin at 10 a.m. and culminate at midnight, coinciding with the time of Krishna’s birth. As part of the celebrations, artistes such as Raghavendra Ratnakar and Mysore Rangaswamy will perform Sangeetotsava Seva at the main temple hall. A special dance drama — Krishnamrutha — will be performed by artistes of Kumar Performing Arts Centre under the direction of K. Kumar from 7 p.m. onwards in a special auditorium. ISKCON will construct a grand temple and cultural complex on its 9-acre land in Jayanagar.
