A call for Hindu Unity
Pathanamthitta, August 24, 2013: Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan has called for unity among the Hindu community to end the alleged discrimination towards the majority community in the State.
Mr. Natesan was inaugurating the year-long centenary celebrations of the Parama Bhattara Ashram founded by Vidyadhiraja Chattampi Swami at Ezhumattoor near Mallappally on Friday.
The Yogam leader alleged that minority communities as well as various political parties were taking advantage of the disunity among the majority community. He said government-sponsored coaching classes exclusively for Civil Services Examination aspirants were a discrimination. There were also complaints galore in the allotment of schools and colleges, he said.
Mr. Natesan recalled the contributions of Chattampi Swami and his disciple Sree Narayana Guru in reforming society and eliminating social discrimination.
T.N. Upendranatha Kurup, president, Hindu Matha Maha Madalam, presided over the inaugural function.
R. Ramachandran Nair, former Chief Secretary, delivered the Vidyadhiraja commemoration speech and Kumanam Rajashekharan, Hindu Aikyavedi general secretary, delivered the Theerthapada Paramahansa commemoration speech.
