Swami Vivekananda Rath Yatra Reaches Dharwad on Friday
Dharwad, August 22, 2013: The Swami Vivekananda rath yatra, organised as part of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, will arrive here on Friday.
Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram president Vijayananda Saraswati told presspersons here on Tuesday that the event was aimed at instilling the life and message of Swami Vivekananda among the people, especially the youth.
The rath yatra will arrive here at 9 a.m. Programmes will begin with the Murugha Math seer flagging off the procession at Kalabhavan at 10 a.m. It will pass through City Bus Stand, Regal Circle, Gandhi Chowk, Subhas Road, Vivekananda Circle, Anjuman Circle and Municipal Corporation and end on the RLS College grounds. Nearly 3,500 students will participate in the procession.

Pralhad Joshi, MP will inaugurate the cultural programmes at 6 p.m. Flautist Praveen Godkhindi will perform. Raghunath Nakod will accompany him on tabla.
