Bhadrachalam’s Rama and Sita got new crowns worth of 18.18 lacs from a devotee
Bhadrachalam, August 22, 2013: An NRI from Zambia has donated two golden crowns worth about Rs 18.18 lakh to the presiding deities – Lord Sri Rama and His consort Sita - at the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy shrine in Bhadrachalam on Wednesday.
According to sources, B Malleswar Rao, an ardent devotee of Lord Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy, handed over two golden crowns to temple executive officer M Raghunath at the temple in the afternoon.
Mr Raghunath in turn handed over the glittering crowns to the temple priests. Mr Malleswara Rao and his family members offered special prayers at the shrine. The temple priests honoured Mr Malleswara Rao by presenting him ‘sesha vastrams’.
Mr Raghunath said the two golden crowns weighed 508 grams.
