Second Day of Pavitrotsavam : Pavitra Samarpana
Tirumala, August 19, 2013: On the second day of the ongoing three-day annual Pavithrotsavams of Lord Venkateswara on Sunday, the priests ceremoniously carried out the auspicious ritual of Pavitra Samarpana.
The Pavithralu (silk garlands) as the name denotes woven out of a special variety of high quality cotton and exclusively grown in a land meant to grow the sacred Tulasi plants was adorned to various deities in the sanctum sanctorum as well as to those at all the sub-temples inside the main temple complex.In connection with the festival, the temple administration has dispensed with performance of all the day-time rituals inside the temple.
