Tirupati, August 19, 2013:  The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) management conducted ‘Satyanarayana Vratham’ in Melachuru village of Yerpedu mandal in Chittoor district on Sunday.

The predominantly-tribal hamlet was chosen for the grand event, as part of the ‘Managudi’ programme, in which 200 couples participated.

TTD Joint Executive Officer P. Venkatrami Reddy advised the village people to focus on educating their children.

“After they complete class seven, send them to Tirupati to join the TTD’s educational institutions,” he said. He also explained the salient features of Satyanarayana Vratham and the importance of protecting one’s tradition and culture. Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishat (HDPP) special officer Raghunath and Dharma Prachara Mandali (Chittoor) president Galla Suresh took part.
