Tirunelveli, August 18, 2013: The ‘Rath Yathra’, which is being conducted across Tamil Nadu in connection with the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, reached Tirunelveli on Friday afternoon on the 125th day of the event.

After being received on the city outskirts, the ‘Vivekananda Rath’ visited good number of schools here, where rousing reception was accorded.

On Saturday, a procession was organised from Government Siddha Medical College to Ramasamy Temple ground in Palayamkottai in the evening after the ‘rath’ was taken to various schools and colleges here and a public meeting was organised at the ground.

The rath will visit Sri Sarada College for Women on Sunday, where arrangements have been made for conducting special prayers and bhajans.

“We expect over 50,000 students to visit the rath during its stay at Tirunelveli,” said the organisers.
