Tirumala Pushkarini Closes its Doors for a Month
Tirumala, August 17, 2013: The Pushkarini at the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara will remain closed for nearly one month from Friday enabling the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) management take up required developmental works to the centuries old water tank.
With the annual Brahmotsavams fast approaching the temple management has accelerated the preparatory arrangements. The water from the mammoth tank will be completely drained out and kept dry for about two weeks during which time the authorities will take up the required repair works. All the works are expected to be completed by September 14. While so, the bathing ghats situated on the western part of the tank will be kept functional for the benefit of the devotees.
Following the repair works the management also has dispensed with the performance of Ganga Harathi observed daily at the temple tank until it is revived.
