Thrikkakara Temple Gears Up for Onasadhya
Kochi, August 17, 2013: The Thrikkakara temple is preparing to welcome at least 20,000 guests for the Onasadhya (Onam feast) this year. Preparations are on for the ten-day festival to begin with Atham on September 8. The ancient practice of Uthradakazhcha or Thirunal Kazha Samarpanam brings in people’s participation for the Onasadhya, as the offerings become part of the feast the next day. The festival will also have the usual rituals and cultural programmes such as the Pakalpooram. The temple authorities have also taken up a project to construct a separate temple for Siva’s deity.
