Khammam, August 17, 2013: Pavitrotsavam got off to a grand start in Bhadrachalam on Friday on the auspicious occasion of second Sravana Sukravaram. Special pujas and rituals, including Samuhika Varalakshmi Vratam, Kumkumaarchana and panchamruthabhishekam were performed at the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy shrine and other sub-temples. Women dressed in traditional attire participated in the special rituals. Elsewhere in the district, Varalakshmi puja and vrathams were performed by women devotees with religious fervour.
