TTD Union Requests APSRTC Employees to Exempt the Hill Shrine from Bandh
Tirumala, August 12, 2013: In an earnest appeal, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Senior Officers’ Union on Sunday requested the APSRTC employees’ union leaders to exempt the sacred hill shrine of Tirumala from the bandh call.
It may be mentioned here that the leaders of APSRTC employees’ unions have categorically made it clear that they would go on an indefinite strike from Monday midnight as an expression of their solidarity with the ongoing struggle for a unified State and that all bus services will be stopped between Tirumala and Tirupati. General secretary of the TTDs Senior Officers’ Union T. Ravi stated that the employees have already joined the movement in response to the call given by the Samiakhyandhra NGOs’ unions and also served strike notices to the management. Further, Mr. Ravi also requested the RTC union leaders to adopt a pragmatic approach to the difficulties to which the visiting devout from far and near destinations will be subjected to and allow the buses to ply on the Tirumala ghat roads on humanitarian grounds.
