Kadapa, August 11, 2013: The marriage of 16 couples was conducted in Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy temple at Gandi in Chakrayapet mandal on Saturday, in a mass marriage programme organised by the Kadapa-based Sri Gandi Veeranjaneya Swamy Seva Samstha founder K. Venkataiah.

The couples belonging to various castes were offered gold mangalasutrams and new clothes by mining owners of Pulivendula. BC Samkshema Sangham general secretary CI Subba Reddy and Viswa Hindu Parishad vice-president B. Ramakrishna Reddy organised annadanam.

Mr. Venkataiah said he had been performing mass marriages in the temple for the last 20 years with the support of good samaritans. The guests felicitated Mr. Venkataiah.
