Vallasadya Zeal in Aranmula
Pathanamthitta, August 5, 2013: The banks of the Pampa, adjoining the Sri Aranmula Parthasarathy temple, on Sunday witnessed the bustle and grandeur of another Vallasadya, the age-old ritual of serving snake-boat crew with the choicest dishes as part of an offering to the temple’s presiding deity. Hundreds of devotees from different parts of south and central Kerala flocked to the temple where the feast was offered to the crew of 12 snake boats (Palliyodams).
Water Resources Minister P.J. Joseph will convene a meeting of the heads of government departments and PSS leaders at the Panchajanyam auditorium here on August 12 to review the arrangements being made for the famous Uthirttathi Vallamkali (regatta) on September 20.
