August 4, 2013: The 2013 edition of Annual Food Festival will begin at Uppalam helipad ground on Monday. The one-week event, which is likely to attract more than a lakh tourists, including domestic and foreign nationals, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Rangasamy. Tourism Minister P. Rajavelu said on Saturday that 40 leading star hotels and branded restaurants would be participating in the festival. They would offer Indian, French, continental, Chinese, Italian and Vietnamese food items. They had agreed to offer food varieties at 40 per cent less than the actual cost. Entrance ticket would be Rs.5 for adults and children would not be charged.
