Van Mahotsav to be Inaugurated by Modi
Rajkot, August 2, 2013: Chief Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the state's 64th annual Van Mahotsav at Nageshwar near Dwarka in Jamnagar district on Friday. The function, organised near Nageshwar temple which enshrines one of the 12 Jyotirlingums of Lord Shiva in the country, would kick-start a series of similar events in several districts.
The CM will inaugurate a theme park, developed over a five-hectare area near the temple, during this event. Named Nagesh Van, the park has a replica of the holy mountains of Kailash in the Himalayas, besides plants of flowers offered to Lord Shiva, officers of state information department in Jamnagar said. The garden has 8,000 plants, including big 2,500 trees.
Incidentally, in the run-up to last year's Assembly election, Modi had declared to separate Dwarka from Jamnagar district and make it a separate district.
