Thapa to launch signature campaign for Hindu Kingdom across the country in Nepal
Rautahat, July 31, 2013: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa has announced to launch signature campaign for a Hindu kingdom in all municipalities and village development committees across the country.
Talking to media persons in Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat, Chairman Thapa said the RPP-N will organize signature campaign for a Hindu state, democracy with king and national identity from October 21 to 28 ahead of the fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) poll scheduled for November 19. “We are waiting for the upcoming CA polls to end the crisis that was brought about by a wrong political exercise in Nepal,” said Thapa.
Chairman Thapa argued that the real opinion of the people could be determined by having separate ballot boxes for Hindu state, democracy with king, and republic in the election. “The need of the country now is a Hindu state and a democracy with king,” he said.
Thapa also demanded Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi to hold all-party political conference to resolve the current political deadlock. He argued that dissolution of the High-Level Political Committee (HLPC) was a must for ensuring free and fair CA elections.
On the separate issue, Thapa argued that it was unfortunate on the part of the government to restrict former king Gyanendra from providing relief to the flood-hit people. “What a weak republic they have brought abuot. Its shakes even when the former king just visits temples. It appears to crumble even when he reaches out to distribute relief to far west,” he said.
