Bad weather is not allowing Chopper services for Vaishno Devi Pilgrims
Jammu, July 31, 2013: The helicopter service to the Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir remained suspended for fifth consecutive day on Tuesday due to bad weather, sources said.
According to sources, the chopper service from Katra base camp to Sanjhi Chat remained suspended due to fog and rains.
"Only a few flights managed took off from the base camp to Sanjhi Chat today before fog set in," said Ajay Sharma from Katra.
He added there was chaos at the helipad after pilgrims who had booked chopper services online showed up.
Senior superintendent of police Reasi Raghubir Singh said, "Helicopter services remained affected due to bad weather today."
