Employees Association objects Salary deduction for Uttarakhand relief fund donation
Panaji, July 31, 2013: The Goa Government Employees’ Association (GGEA) has written to the Managing Director of State-owned Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) objecting to the arbitrary deduction of one-day salary towards the Uttarakhand Relief Fund.
General Secretary of the GGEA has made it clear that GGEA was never consulted by the KTC management over the issue of one-day salary deduction.
“Forcible salary deduction without written consent of the concerned employee is against the fundamental and service rules in force and this organisation does not want to encroach on the right of the individual employees,” General Secretary John Nazareth said in the letter.
The GGEA has advised the management of KTCL that the collection relief funds should be voluntarily and exerting pressure on KTCL employees to donate against their will should be avoided.
It has also requested the Managing Director of the KTCL to issue a clarification that the GGEA had not been consulted in this regard.
