Thrissur, July 30, 2013: Celebrations to mark the 425th anniversary of Narayaneeyam concluded in Guruvayur on Monday.

Narayaneeyam is a Sanskrit text written by Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiri that condenses the Bhagavatha Purana into 1,036 verses. Addressing the valedictory function, Governor Nikhil Kumar pointed out the spiritual significance of Narayaneeyam.

Devaswom Minister V.S. Sivakumar presided. Guruvayur Devaswom chairman T.V. Chandramohan; administrator K. Muraleedharan spoke.

A Malayalam translation of Narayaneeyam was released on the occasion.
