Kancheepuram, July 30, 2013: The Tiruvallur district administration has declared a local holiday on Wednsday in view of Aadi Kirthigai festival at Subramaniya Swamy temple, Tiruttani. The district treasury and sub-treasury offices alone will function with minimum staff, said Collector K. Veera Raghava Rao. The local holiday has been declared under Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881, and will be applicable to all educational institutions in Tiruvallur district. August 24 will be a working day in order to compensate for the local holiday.
