Supreme Court CJ Prays Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala
Tirumala, July 29, 2013: The Chief Justice of India, Justice P. Sathasivam, accompanied by his wife Saraswathi Sathasivam and the Chief Justice of AP High Court Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta, on Sunday offered prayers at the temple of Lord Venkateswara here.
They were received with the traditional ‘Istikapal’ temple honours on their arrival at the main entrance of the temple complex and were led into the sanctum sanctorum where they offered their prayers to the main deity.
Prominent among others who received them included the Tirumala Tirupati Devsthanams Chairman K. Bapiraju, Executive Officer MG Gopal and other officials.
The chief priest of the temple honoured them with the Sesha Vastrams of the Lord.
Later at the Ranganayakula mandapam while the authorities presented them with the laddu prasadam and memento of the presiding deity the priests showered Vedasirvachanams on them.
Prominent among others who accompanied them included Justice N.V. Ramana of AP High Court, CVSO GVG Ashok kumar and District Judge Ravi Babu.
