Compensation for Uttarakhand victims of Rajasthan

 

 

Jaipur, July 29, 2013: The Rajasthan Government has announced a compensation of Rs. 10 lakh each, besides a government job, to the next of kin of the people hailing from the State killed or missing in Uttarakhand floods.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday night, officials said.

The cash amount includes Rs. 5 lakh given by the State Government, Rs. 2 lakh from the PM relief fund, and Rs. 1.5 lakh each from SDRF and the Uttarakhand Government’s relief fund.

A cash relief of Rs. 25,000 will be given to those injured in the floods, and undergoing treatment in hospitals.

To girls who have lost either of their parents in the tragedy, the State Government will provide monthly relief of Rs. 4,000 besides a fixed deposit of Rs. 4 lakh.

Those who do not choose to take up the government job will be given other packages that includes monthly allowance, officials said, adding that various other facilities and allowances will also be provided to different sections of society.

The district collectors will be empowered to execute the relief package, they said.
