Nagercoil, July 28, 2013: In view of the three-day visit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat to Kanyakumari, the district, particularly the Vivekananda Kendra, has been brought under security blanket.

Mr.Bhagwat reached Kanyakumari by road from Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. The RSS chief will participate in a meeting at the Kendra in connection with the 150th birthday celebrations of Swami Vivekananda. Later, he will attend the ‘Guru Poornima’ function to be held in Nagercoil on Sunday.

He will leave for Chennai on Monday by train after visiting Vivekananda rock memorial. Poompuhar Shipping Corporation has arranged an exclusive boat for him to reach the memorial. Around 400 police personnel have been pressed into service in and around Kanyakumari to prevent any untoward incident.
