Vizag Steel Plant dontated 75 lacs to Uttarakhand flood victims
Visakhapatnam, July 26, 2013: The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has handed over a cheque for Rs. 75 lakh to Union Minister of Steel Beni Prasad Verma towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Uttarakhand, for the relief of flood victims.
Mr. Verma said that the nation and the Ministry of Steel in particular stood with the people of Uttarakhand in their difficult times.
RINL Chairman-cum-Managing Director A.P. Choudhary expressed his condolence over the loss of life caused by the disaster. Director (Finance) P. Madhusudan handed over the cheque to the Minister on Thursday.
NMDC, SAIL, RINL, and MOIL contributed Rs.5 crore. In addition to this, KIOCL, another PSU under the Ministry of Steel, contributed a total of Rs. 50 lakh.
Steel Secretary D.R.S. Chaudhary and Uttaranchal Chief Resident Commissioner Sunnel Kumar Mutto were present.
