108 temples of Visakhapatnam District will participate in Managudi Program from August 11

Visakhapatnam, July 26, 2013: To propagate the Hindu dharma and to highlight the importance of temples among people, the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has constituted a fresh committee in the city.

The TTD committee, which has been non-functional for a few years now, is back again to organise a number of religious programmes and undertake repairs in various temples across the district. It also focuses on identifying dilapidated temples in the rural and neighbouring places and strives to make the temples functional by involving representatives concerned.

The TTD, in association with the Endowments Department, plans to launch the ‘Mana Gudi’ programme on August 11.

“A number of religious activities such as spiritual discourses by scholars on August 11, ‘kumkuma puja’ in 108 temples across the district on August 12, ‘gopuja’ on August 14, mass ‘Varalakshmi vratam’ on August 16, ‘Satyanarayana vratam’ on August 17, and ‘ratha yatra’ of the processional deities near SC and ST residential colonies on August 18 and 19 have been lined up,” TTD Dharma Prachara Parishad vice-president G.R.K. Prasad said at a meeting organised at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam on Thursday. The programme would conclude on the auspicious ‘Shravana Pournami’ on August 21. Special pujas in temples were planned on that day.

The new 24-member team took oath as Mandali members.

CMD of Vijay Nirman Company S. Vijay Kumar is the president of the committee. CMD of CMR Group Mavuri Venkata Ramana and G. Radha Krishna are resource persons. K. Rama Devi is the secretary and K. Venkata Soma Kesava is the committee’s assistant secretary.

Later, the office-bearers, along with other committee members, and superintendent of TTD Information Centre A. Venkata Ramana participated in the Mana Gudi poster release programme.
