Rising trend of Ganga and Yamuna
Allahabad, July 24, 2013: ALLAHABAD: The level of Ganga and Yamuna on Tuesday showed a rising trend in Phaphamau, Chatnag and Naini areas.
The level of Ganga in Phaphamau and Chatnag was recorded 80.570 and 78.180 metres respectively while that of the Yamuna at Naini was 79.890 metres.
The level of Ganga at Phaphamau and Chatnag was recorded at 33 and 32 cms respectively. Similarly, the level of Yamuna rose up to 55 cms in Naini. The officials said the level of the two rivers could rise further.
At Daraganj, flood water has entered streets leading to Dashashwamedh Ghat. Kanwariyas were wading through flood water.On Tuesday, thousands of devotees flocked Bade Hanuman temple and offered prayers.
