Medical team to Babadham by Bokaro Steel, as in the past
Bokaro, July 24, 2013: BOKARO: Bokaro Steel plant is banking on divine blessings for a turnaround. The unit of SAIL, which is struggling to stay afloat, sent its medical team to Deoghar on Tuesday for special services during shravani mela. The company has been sending its medical team to Babadham for the past 16 years as part of its corporate social responsibility programme. CEO Anutosh Maitra extending the 'sewa' this year also has flagged off a convoy of vehicles carrying a medical team at Ispat Bhawan here.
The team comprises a doctor and paramedics, who will provide free medical aid to thousands of devotees who visit shravani mela.
But the medical team this time will pray for the recovery of BSL's dwindling bottomline. Members of the team said besides attending to sick pilgrims, they would visit the temple. BSL is witnessing a steep fall in profit in the past three financial years owing to weak demand for steel in the global market. Besides, several units of BSL require maintenance.
The Dharmshala constructed by BSL have electricity and water facilities and an enclosure to facilitate medical Treatment. A team of doctor and a paramedic will be available there along with volunteers to take care of the devotees. The team will stay there for ten days and thereafter, they would be replaced by another group sent by BSL.
However, this time BSL will also provide ambulance to refer serious patients to the nearest Deoghar Hospital. The CSR department of BSL will owe the expenses occurred in referring of the patient. Like past years, this Shravani Mela expects more than 6 lakhs devotees. Apart from state government, the BSL has also installed its medical camp to provide necessary medical care to the devotees. tnn

The Maitra and his team are putting their maximum effort to overcome from this bad phase. "The blessing of Lord Shiva remains always with BSL and you will see the team of Maitra will come across all the hurdles bravely and make good time return soon," said another member of the team.
He added, that every year BSL use to send a group of volunteers along with a medical team, who serve the devotees till the Shravani Mela ends almost one month. The BSL has constructed and opened a Dharamsala there in 2010 under its corporate social responsibility. The devotees are being provided free accommodation there. The medical vans that left for Shravani Mela carry medicines and other first aid equipments.
