Tirumala, July 24, 2013: Chairman of the All India Anti-Terrorist Front (AIATF) Maninderjit Singh Bitta on Tuesday said that the threat perception from various militant and fundamental outfits has rather compelled the increase in security at all the temples in the country.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Bitta said that the Front was also toying with the proposal of interlinking all the temples in the country before bringing them under a common security carpet.

He underlined the need for a better co-operation between the States and the Centre for that proposal.

In reply to a question, he also stressed the need to enhance security at Tirumala which is already on the radar list of militant groups. Earlier, he also offered prayers at the temple of Lord Venkateswara.
