Mysore, July 23, 2013: Ganabharathi will conduct a music competition as part of Sri Krishna Jayanti Festival on August 18 at 9 a.m. at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagar, according to a release. The competition is open to amateur and young artistes who have not completed Vidwat or equivalent examinations. The competition will be conducted for juniors (8 to 15 years) and seniors (15 to 25 years) in the seven categories: Carnatic vocal; instrumental; dasara padagalu; Manku Timmana Kagga (Sugamasangeeta style); vachana gayana; layavadya and written quiz related to music. Applications can be taken from the Ganabharathi office during working hours (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) from August 1. The last date for submission of the forms with a fee of Rs. 30 per event is August 10, the release added. For details, call 9886189917 or 97408 99496, the release said.
