M.P. CM: Hindu Community and Believers Should Get Together and Rebuild the Temple

Bhopal, July 22, 2013: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday differed with his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi on the issue of rebuilding the Kedarnath temple saying the time is not right to discuss about reconstruction of the shrine in Uttarakhand destroyed in the flash floods. "The time is not right... There is no hurry in talking about the reconstruction of the Kedarnath temple. It will be taken care of by the Uttarakhand government," Chouhan told reporters here after his arrival from Haridwar.

"The shrine will be re-built by the state government with the cooperation of seers and saints," he said. Terming the calamity in Uttarakahand as "very big", Chouhan urged "all the concerned to do their best to mitigate the impact". Modi had offered to rebuild the temple which was turned down by Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna saying it will be done by his government and the temple committee. A few days ago, senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha had also differed with Modi saying the Kedarnath temple was a symbol of Hindu faith and the "Hindu community and believers should get together and rebuild the temple".
