Karnatak Vidyavardhaka Sangha’s Senior Members Felicitated
Dharwad, July 22, 2013: The government should preserve villages, as they were storekeepers of the continued to culture of the nation, Kadasiddheshwar Swami of Siddhagiri Samsthan Math in Kanheri, Kolhapur, said here on Sunday.
Address
He was addressing a gathering after the felicitation of senior members of the Karnatak Vidyavardhaka Sangha (KVS) here on Sunday. The event marked the second day of the 124th foundation day celebrations of KVS here on Sunday.
The seer said that there was a need for creating an atmosphere in villages where everyone was considered equal. He said those who carried out social service silently were the real harbingers of development in the country. There was need to identify such leaders and felicitate them and thereby motivate them further, he said.
Sangha president Patil Puttappa said that only if religious institutions like maths can lead society towards progress only when they become independent themselves.

On the occasion, senior members Markandeya Dodmani, K.B. Kallannavar, B.G. Patil, Ms. H.M. Bilagi, Rajendra Patil, S.S. Navalgund, I.K. Ballur and Basavanneppa Wali were felicitated.
Karnatak Vidyavardhaka Sangha vice-president Shivanna Bellad and working president B.V. Gunjetti were present on the occasion. General secretary Shankar Halagatti welcomed the gathering and proposed a vote of thanks.
