Vijayawada, July 21, 2013: The Jain community in the city has geared up to observe ‘chaturmas’ from Sunday. The Jain nuns have arrived here to observe the ‘chaturmas’ at Jain temple in One Town. The Jains will participate in various rituals, including Ayambil, Paryushana parva, new year as per Mumbai panchang etc.

The Ayambil --eating food once in one sitting—from October 10 to 18.

The Paryushana Parva, one of the most important festivals for Jains, will be observed from September 2 to 9. The Jain Sadhvis will deliver discourses during the ‘chaturmas’.
