JTDC Introduces Special Shravani Package at Rs. 14, 999 for Flights to Babadham

 

JAMSHEDPUR, July 20, 2013: If you are keen to experience a hassle-free and quick visit to Baidyanath Dham temple to offer prayers during the holy Shravani season then the civil aviation department of the state government will surely fulfill your wish for Rs 14999 special package.

The government has introduced a special three and half hour tour package for the kanwariya (devotees) interested in a comfortable journey and quick darshan of Lord Shiva in the holy season starting from July 23.

"Special Shravani air package will cost Rs 14999 which will include return journey within three and half hours along with special darshan of Baba at the temple and a meal in Deogarh," said principal secretary civil aviation department Sajal Chakravarti at the press conference here on Friday.

The special darshan package includes air service to Deogarh airport from Sonari aerodrome and a meal at the local restaurant on reaching the holy town.

Thereafter, the pilgrims shall be ferried to the temple in a taxi. The pilgrims, carrying special darshan pass, will join the special queue for them to offer prayers at the temple. After the rituals are over they will go to the airport for their return journey to Jamshedpur on the same day.

"A nine-seater charted plane (of a city based business family) has been hired for the service," said Chakravarti to the reporters at the Sonari aerodrome.

The special service will be begin on August 1 and will end on August 21. "Tickets will be available at Alchemist aviation center in Sonari aerodrome, JMA store in Bistupur and JCCN cable network office in Sakchi," said Chakravarti.

The pilgrims need to converge at the Sonari airport on the due date and time of their booking from where the chartered plane will take them to Babadham.

"Deoghar is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations of the country with lakhs visiting Baidyanath Dham every year. I am sure the special air tour package for the Shravani pilgrims shall receive good response," said Chakravarti.

The civil aviation secretary said as of yet the frequency of the chartered plan has not been decided. "Depending on the response we will decide whether the plane should fly once or twice or thrice each day to Deogarh," said Chakravarti.

The project has been undertaken jointly by the Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation(JTDC) and state civil aviation department.
