‘Veyi Padagalu’ Radio Adaptation to Go on Air from Tomorrow

Hyderabad, July 19, 2013: The All India Radio, Hyderabad, will broadcast the radio adaptation of ‘Veyi Padagalu’, the classic that won the first Gnanpeeth award for a Telugu writer, Viswanatha Satyanarayana.

The novel’s radio adaptation will be broadcast on Saturdays in 21 episodes, the first one will commence at 7.15 a.m. on July 20. The classic being broadcast by the Hyderabad centre would be relayed by all centres across the State, according to Akashvani Hyderabad centre Deputy Director General Mangalagiri Adityaprasad.

The radio serial follows the series of similar adaptations of classics, including Gayopakhyanam, Vara Vikrayam and Kanya Sulkam. Audience can tune in to the programme every Saturday.

They can also send their feedback on the radio adaptation of the novel to Akashvani Hyderabad, Mr. Adityaprasad said in a press release.
