Chaturveda Chandi Homam at Kadapa Temple

Kadapa, July 19, 2013: Chaturveda Chandi homam began in Sri Vijaya Durga Devi temple near Built-Up junction here on Thursday as part of the five-day Brahmayagna Sahitha Ashtothara Satha Kalasabhisheka Mahotsavam.

The mahotsavam began before dawn today with maha panchamruthaabhishekam, followed by yagasala pravesam, vastupooja, mandaparadhana and pradhana kalasasthapana performed by Vedic pandit Subramanya Sarma and other priests.

Ganapathi homam and Navagraha homam were performed and Chaturveda Chandi homam would be performed in the morning and evening every day till July 22, temple founders S. Mallikarjuna Rao and S. Durgaprasada Rao said.

Navakalasa snapanam would be performed at 4 a.m. on July 22. Brahmayagna mahapoornahuthi would be performed later. Women devotees would bring 108 kalasams from 108 villages in Kadapa district after performing pooja for 41 days and ashtothara kalasabhishekam would be performed to the presiding deity with the water in the kalasams as well as water brought from holy rivers on Mahashada Pournami on July 22. Ashtothara satha deepalamkara seva and pallaki seva would be performed that evening.

Endowments Minister C. Ramachandraiah would inaugurate a free medical camp and free lab diagnosis near the temple and doctors of Santhiram general hospital and medical college at Nandyal would examine patients and give away medicines
