ISKCON’s Ulta Rath Yatra Will See the Governor of Assam participating in it
GUWAHATI, July 17, 2013: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) on Tuesday said Governor JB Patnaik is likely to take part in the upcoming Ulta Rath Yatra in the city on Thursday.
"We have requested the governor to be a part of the Ulta Rath Uatra and we hope to get a positive response," said ISKCON executive member Gajendranath Khound.
"The Jaganath Rath Yatra started last Wednesday and was attended by more than 10,000 people from different places. We expect more people to attend the Ulta Rath Yatra and get the blessings of Lord Jagannath," said Khound.
The ISKCON member added that the "Ulta Rath" will start on Thursday at 1:30 pm from Haryana Bhawan passing through AT Road, Panbazar, Paltan bazar, Athgaon and will again return to the starting place.
"Devotees from West Africa and Russia said in today's world, people are frustrated and they need to get peace. This can be done by attending the Ulta Rathyatra. The Jagannath Rath Yatra is the grandest festival on earth," said Devakinandan Das, a devotee.
