Pushpa Pallaki Seva at Tirumala
Tirumala, July 17, 2013: Grandeur marked the ‘Pushpa Pallaki’ Seva organised at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara on Tuesday on the eve of the annual Anivara Asthanam.
The processional deities of Lord Malayappa swamy flanked on either side by his two divine consorts mounted atop the flower bedecked palanquin was taken around in a grand procession around the mada streets encircling the hill shrine.
Illuminated
Several tonnes of varied hue of flowers went into the making of the palanquin which was also colourfully illuminated befitting the occasion.
Expert touch
Expert florists form the neighbouring states of Tamilnadu and Karnataka who were specially commissioned for the purpose spent several pains taking hours in decorating the palanquin. The replica of the golden canopy atop the flower bedecked palanquin was a cynosure to the eyes of the devotees. Thousands of devotees witnessed the colourful procession which lasted for more than ninety minutes.
