Kumbakonam, July 17, 2013: People from various walks of life participated in a special prayer session to pay homage to the victims of recent floods and landslips in Uttarakhand here on Tuesday. The prayer, organised by the Chamber of Commerce, Kumbakonam, was held in Sri Kumbeswarar Swamy Temple in the town. The inmates of Annai Mercy Home, and others recited Thevaram. P. Chandrasekaran, fire officer, M. Selvasekaran, president of Individual Talent Training Centre, and P. K. T. Shanmugam, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, participated in prayers.
