Puttaparthy Family Feud: Case Filed Against Sai Prasad
Anantapur, July 17, 2013: The family feud in Puttaparthy, which has spilled into the open, is becoming complex by the day with Ganapathy Raju, a cousin of late Satya Sai Baba, filing a case against Sai Prasad for allegedly attacking and injuring him.
Non-cognisable
Puttaparthy Inspector of Police told The Hindu that all the offences cited by Mr. Ganapathy Raju were non-cognisable in nature and hence they could not file an FIR against Mr Sai Prasad.
However, the Inspector said, they had written to the magistrate seeking permission to register a case based on Mr. Raju’s complaint.
On the other hand, the case filed against Mr. Raju is yet to be investigated as the Deputy Superintendent of Police is on leave. Mr Raju has been asked to remain in town and be available to the police.
Police said they were investigating into the cyber crime case against Mr. R.J. Ratnakar, a close relative of Sai Baba and member of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, for allegedly creating a fake email ID similar to that of Mr Raju aimed at defaming him by demanding money.
Writing letters
Mr Raju had been relentlessly writing letters to the authorities levelling allegations against Mr Ratnakar. The Trust has taken the stand that Mr. Ratnakar had not committed any wrong as a Member.
