Vocalist Bharadwaj Sarma Captivates Audiences

Nellore, July 16, 2013: In his debut on-stage performance, Puligundla Kartheek Sunder Bharadwaj Sarma has impressed the audience with his Carnatic classical music concert, organised by the Keertana Arts International Nellore unit at Town Hall here.

The 17-year-old Bharadwaj Sarma demonstrated his grip over the ragas and swaras. He received tutelage under ‘Nada Chintamani’ D.V. Suresh Rao, who was felicitated by the music admirers in the city on the occasion.

The young artiste showed promise with his effective presentation of the compositions of the ‘vaggeyakaras’. He splendidly showcased the nuances of melodic ragas and intricacies of swaras.

Bharadwaj Sarma made an impressive beginning with ‘ninu kori’ traditional ‘varna’ in ‘vasanta raga adi talam’. Later, he presented ‘gam ganapati’ in ‘saveri raga’ and ‘endaro mahanubhavulu’ in ‘sree ragam.’

The highlight of his concert was the ease with which he presented ‘prakkala nilabadi’ in a variety of ragas. It brought applause from his guru Suresh Rao and the listeners. Bharadwaj concluded his concert with ‘mangala sasanam’ slokam.

Sarvepalli Ajay Kumar, founder of the Sarvepalli Music Foundation, Nellore, presided over the felicitation function.

Keertana Arts Nellore unit director P. Umakiran said that there was good response from the music admirers to the programme and all support would be given to young talent in future.
