Bellary, July 16, 2013: A sum of Rs. 1.76 lakh mobilised from public by the volunteers of National Service Scheme (NSS) in the Indo-American Degree College here was donated to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for relief operations at the flood-hit Uttarkhand. Manjappa Hosamane, Vice-Chancellor of the Vijayanagar Sri Krishnadevaraya University, handed over the cheque to Deputy Commissioner Amlan Aditya Biswas on behalf of NSS volunteers on Monday. K.C. Kondaiah, former MP and MLC; Chetan Singh Rathor, Superintendent of Police; P.H. Naidu, principal of the college; and H. Ramakrishna, NSS coordinator were present.
