Tiruchi, July 16, 2013: Music is the mother of all arts. It is the perfect medium to preserve culture and civilisation and artistes help us in preserving it, said V. Anand, advocate, Madras High Court.

“We should encourage youth to take up arts, literature, and music that’s oriented towards our culture,” Mr. Anand said at the second anniversary celebrations of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tiruchi Kendra, here on Saturday.

The chief guest, L. Sabaretnam, chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra, released a brochure, while the guest of honour, Mr. Anand, launched the website of the Tiruchi kendra. “Bhavan needs good infrastructure for its training. I hope that it achieves it soon,” said Mr. Sabaretnam in his presidential address. He praised Sudha Raghunathan for her charity. The vocalist’s soulful rendition captivated the audience for hours.

“My prayer is that the Tiruchi Kendra will go on to celebrate its centenary anniversary,” the vocalist said.
