Homams for U’khand Flood Victims Performed in Vizag

Visakhapatnam, July 15, 2013: A group of devout Hindus under the tutelage of Harerama Guruji of Vijayawada conducted a homam here on Sunday to pay homage to the thousands of devotees who died in the recent floods in Uttarakhand.

Bhabatarini Charitable Trust conducted Mahamrutyunjaya homam and Brihat Kali homam at the Kalimatha Temple on the Beach Road to pray for the souls of the departed who could not be given proper funeral rites, chairman and managing trustee of Bhabatarini Charitable Trust Sudipta Banerjee said.

A large number of devotees and some members of the families of those who lost their lives in the natural calamity participated in the sacred ritual.

By participating in the ritual, the family can be assured that the soul of the departed is in peace despite not being given a proper funeral, the organisers said.
