BHUBANESWAR, July 12, 2013: Despite bad weather, thousands of devotees thronged Jagannath temple at Baripada to participate in the annual RathYatra on Thursday, as women pulled Subhadra'schariot in accordance to the traditions. Baripada recorded 15mm rainfall on Thursday.

While Puri attracted the attention of the world for the annual car festival, Baripada Rath Yatra is special in several ways. Unlike in Puri where all three chariots pulled on the same day, the chariot pulling in Baripada continues for three days. The deities were ascended upon the chariots on Wednesday but started their journey on Thursday.
