GAIL Employees Donate a Day’s Salary towards Uttarakhand Relief
New Delhi, July 12, 2013: The employees of State gas utility GAIL India Ltd have contributed one day’s salary for relief and rehabilitation work in disaster-hit Uttarakhand.
The contribution to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund was handed over to Oil Minister M. Veerappa Moily by GAIL Chairman and Managing Director B. C. Tripathi here on Thursday, a company statement said. Apart from this, GAIL has contributed Rs 2 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as an immediate measure as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative for Uttarakhand, where thousands lost their lives and many more were injured and rendered homeless by the flash floods last month.
