Rath Yatra in Sangam City
ALLAHABAD, July 11, 2013: Joining the entire nation in celebrating the traditional Jagannath Yatra, the denizens of the Sangam city took out a RathYatra of Lord Jagannath, on Wednesday. Devotees in large numbers lined up along the route of the Yatra and pulled the chariot having the idols of Lord Jagannath along with his sister Subdahra and brother Baldeo.
The procession started from Agrasen crossing after aatri of lord Jagannath performed by the MP, Reoti Raman Singh.
The procession passed through SC Basu road, Hewett road, Johnstonganj, Clock Tower, chowk, Bahadurganj, Ram Bhuwan crossing, Mutthiganj, Panchkosi Marg and culminated at the Jagannath temple in Malviya Nagar.
On the occasion, the MP said such events should be organised at various places as not only the people get close to their religion but the younger generation too gets the true message of the ceremonies related to our religious practices.
Joining the procession, there were horses, elephants and other animals along with other chariots. People shouted slogans, in praise of Lord Jagannath. The devotees danced and sung bhajans along the route of procession and sought the blessings of the lord.
