‘Nataraja Nrithyotsav’ in Vizag from Tomorrow
Visakhapatnam, July 11, 2013: Nataraj Music and Dance Academy is organising a two-day national-level dance festival for men, ‘Nataraj Nrithyotsav,’ from Friday.
The expert committee has selected 11 male dancers who will perform Kuchipudi, Kathak, Manipuri, Vilasini, Odissi, Bharathanatyam and other classical forms during the festival. Abhinandan Chatterjee from West Bengal, Ardhanareeswaram Venkat from Hyderabad, Sinam Basu Singh from Manipur, Amulya Balabantaray from Bhubaneswar, Debaldev Jana from Kolkata are expected to perform on Friday, while Laalith Kumar Gupta from Visakhapatnam, Ajay Kumar from Vijayawada, Anil Vettikattiri, S. Shanv and Dharmajan from Kerala and Sanjay Kumar Joshi from Hyderabad will be performing on Saturday, according to founder director of the academy Bathina Vikram Goud.
The committee members include selection committee chairman and critic and journalist Shyamhari Chakra, principal of Sidhendhra Kalapeetam Vedhantham Ramalinga Sastry, and managing trustee of Kali Temple, B. Sudeeptha, among others. Classical dance connoisseurs can visit Kalabharathi Auditorium and witness the live performance from 6 p.m. where the entry would be free, he added.
