Tirupati, July 9, 2013: The annual ‘Pavitrotsavam’ will be conducted at the TTD’s Sri Kapileswaraswami temple here from July 19 to 21. According to Vedic traditions, people are not supposed to visit the temple during inauspicious times i.e., during the occurrence of birth/death at home. But the heavy influx of pilgrims and with the passage of time, such traditions are seldom followed and given a go-by. The purification is conducted to undo the damage thus caused and also prevent the bad influences arising from human neglect.
