Sangareddy’s Pilgrim Circuit Almost Ready
Sangareddy, July 8, 2013: Slowly but surely, a pilgrim circuit is developing near Sangareddy, including the district headquarters town, about 60 kilometres from the State capital.
Some believe that developing this circuit may create some opportunities for employment as well.
For anyone from Hyderabad, it’s a day’s job to cover these pilgrim centres and it would be more convenient if one hires a vehicle or has his own transport.
The pilgrim visit begins at Sri Siddhi Vinayaka temple located at Ganeshgadda, on National-Highway 9 near Rudraram.
The temple is located on the right of the National Highway while one is travelling to Mumbai.
About 500 metres from the temple, if one takes a right turn, he will reach Yerdanur, another five kilometres from the Ganesh temple.
Here, a Shani temple is under construction but the idol, about 20-feet tall, including two-feet basement, was established in the month of February this year. Havan is held every Saturday.
By travelling another five kilometres from here, pilgrims can reach Durgabhavani temple, stated to be 800 years old, located at Ismailkhanpet.
The gigantic Goddess Durga idol is very impressive.
From there, one can reach Vaikunthapuram, a recently renovated Balaji temple situated on the outskirts of Sangareddy, about 15 kilometres from Ismailkhanpet.
By coming to the highway, the pilgrimage can be completed.
“Reaching Ganeshgadd is not an issue as it is located on the highway. However, it is problematic to complete this route as no frequent transport is available connecting Ganeshgadd, Ismailhanpet temple and Sangareddy,” said R. Venkateswara Rao, a pilgrim from Hyderabad, who came to Yerdanur on Saturday.
