‘Sahasra Ghatabhishekam’ To Please The Rain God
Kurnool, July 7, 2013: Priests conducted “Sahasra Ghatabhishekam” at Srisailam to appease the Rain God on Saturday.
About 1,000 pots were filled with holy water from the Krishna river and two sacred ponds within the temple, and used for anointing the presiding deity, Mallikarjuna Swamy.
On the occasion, the Devasthanam also opened a pilgrim information centre in the town to help
visitors.
